Remote in St. Petersburg (Florida)

Catching up with Emily while home!

I've been in Florida about five weeks now. I came back for a wedding and to spend the holidays with my friends and family and also to sell my car (committing fully to the nomadic lifestyle!) and now Christmas has just passed. I had hoped to head back to Mexico at the first of the year to meet Mike in Isla Mujeres, but that's just a few days away and I haven't sold the car, so plans are getting adjusted.

However, hope springs eternal. I got the car out of the body shop with the scratches all fixed up and then I put new tires on her and got her looking good, so now that the holidays are over, here's hoping I get some traction.  The plan at this point is to meet up with Mike in Isla as soon as the car is sold, then from there to return to Merida to get my dental work redone (I have an appt. with a new dentist on Feb. 6th).

All ready for the buyer!

After Merida, Mike and I have a loose plan to meet up in the Dominican Republic. He's been there before and loves it (great sailing, kiting, people) and I think it's also somewhere affordable and decently connected where I could live and work pretty easily. I'm excited about us being somewhere together!  But if Mike is still out sailing in March (working his way to the DR) I'll probably go to San Miguel de Allende for a month and check it out, then meet him after. I really want to see that place!

Being home has been a good opportunity to spend time with my family and get things done before I leave the States again. I am clearing out the boxes of stuff at my parents', stocking up on special products I can't find abroad, streamlining my travel wardrobe, and getting doctor's check-ups. I even got a new work computer sent to me while I was here.  My list of to-dos is shrinking except for that one big one-- sell the Kia. Funny to think I wrestled so much with the decision of whether to keep it or list it and now I'm frustrated that it's taking more than a week to sell. I may make decisions slowly, but once I do, I'm all in.

Well, here's hoping my next post is written about the sale of my car while I'm en route to Isla Mujeres! Fingers crossed.
